Disclaimer: I gathered the first 5 questions from my old blogs, especially when I was still using ask.fm. Those were just off the top of my head. I also have edited my answers a little bit because some were already outdated.

  1. Why Gigi?
It was a day after my college graduation. I just ended a sad 4-year relationship and I wanted to start a new leaf. I was watching He’s Just Not That Into You (I know okay, not a stellar movie choice) and there was this one character whose name was Gigi. She said something that empowered a broken-hearted me. I was inspired ever since.

“You may not get hurt or make an ass of yourself that way but you don’t fall in love that way either. You have not won. You’re alone. I may do a lot of stupid shit but I’m still a lot closer to love than you are.”

  2. Why “Wild Hair Old Soul”?
Long story. My username had always been Chictionary and then as I was thinking about owning my own domain, I figured it was time to have a new name. My first choice was actually The Girl with Messy Hair but that would be too long for a URL. So I settled with Wild Hair Old Soul since that’s my name on most of my social media sites. I guess those words describe who I am. I have messy hair (I have never combed my hair in yeaaaars) and I’m an old soul.
  3. Do you have a foreign blood?
    I do. My mother’s half-Russian.
  4. I saw on one of your [posts] that you were forced to take Nursing …?
I don’t want to call it “forced”, because I really wasn’t. The primary reason my mother chose that course for me was she didn’t want me  to be too far from home. Nursing also promised a lot of job openings back then, and my father wanted someone from the family to be in the medical field. Anyway, the experience was good. Sure, taking a course that I really wanted would have been superb, but the number of people I helped through my 4 years of OJT practice is something that I’ll treasure forever. It wasn’t all for naught.
  5. How did you get over your ex?
I honestly don’t know. I think I get over my exes the same way other girls do: Cry for the first few days.
After that, I list down the pros and cons of leaving and if I see that the former outweighs the latter, it makes me feel a little bit better. I’m a bit analytical. Oh, and talking to my best friend helps a lot, too!
  6. What’s the best blogging site for you?
I’m currently using WordPress.org and so far, I’m liking it. It’s true what they say about it being customizable. It brought back in some huge waves of memories of when I was still kinda good at CSS & HTML. Haha!
Before choosing this, I tried Squarespace. It’s actually an awesome platform, but there are two problems: Price + Customization.
I think it really, really depends on your needs. You can choose either of the two above if you have a domain, or you can choose Tumblr, WordPress.com, or Blogger for a no-fuss website.
  7. Why did you upgrade to creating your own website?
I’ve always wanted to do that, and it’s nicer-looking. I get to own my URL, customize more things without being  under another website’s shadow, plus it’s just about time. Buying my domain has motivated me to go back to writing. It’s always been my passion. Go here to find out how you can do it, too!
